Star Surgeon

Dal Timgar finished near the top of his class, and Hospital Earth still means to throw him out. He is the first member of an alien race ever to train as one of its physicians, a gray-furred Garvian with a pink fuzz-ball named Fuzzy riding on his arm, and plenty of powerful people are waiting for him to fail.

His big, stubborn friend Tiger Martin isn't having it. Given one probationary chance, Dal joins Tiger and the sharp-tongued diagnostician Jack Alvarez aboard the patrol ship Lancet, answering calls from sick worlds across the galaxy. One mistake will end Dal's career for good, and the calls coming in, starting with Morua VIII, are about to test far more than his surgical skill.
