About Pied Piper

Pied Piper is a home for web serials: stories published chapter by chapter, read for free, discussed as they’re written.

It’s built around the loop that makes serial fiction work: authors release chapters on a schedule, readers follow and comment, and good stories rise through the rankings on their own merit. Many authors use it to grow an audience before publishing a book or launching a Patreon. That’s encouraged.

What makes it different

• No ads. Not on stories, not in chapters, not anywhere.
• Every reader can write. There are no separate author accounts. Publish your first chapter whenever you like.
• Built for LitRPG and GameLit. System boxes, notices and stat tables are first-class blocks that work on phones and in dark mode. Every other genre is welcome too.
• Honest ratings. To rate a story you need to have read some of it, which stops drive-by one-star ratings.
• Pen names welcome. You choose your display name and username. Nothing from your Google account is shown.
• Your reading settings follow you. Font, size, width and theme sync across devices.
