Pied Piper

Formatting guide

The editor handles everyday formatting like a word processor. For LitRPG and GameLit, it has dedicated blocks for system messages and status screens that look right on every screen size and in dark mode.

Pasting from Google Docs or Word

Paste directly. Bold, italics, underline, headings, centered lines and tables are kept; fonts, colours, sizes and stray spacing are removed so your chapter matches the reader’s chosen font and theme. Empty lines between paragraphs are cleaned up automatically.

Scene breaks

Use the ✱✱✱ button, or type a line containing only ***, * * *, --- or ###. It becomes a proper scene break:

…and the door closed behind her.

Three days later, the letter arrived.

System boxes

The classic “blue box”. Pick a colour from the System box menu. The first line can be a title.

Welcome to the Tutorial

You have been selected for Integration.

Choose your starting class within 10:00 minutes.

Level Up!

You have reached level 12. +5 free attribute points.

Quest Complete: Rats in the Cellar

Reward: 40 copper, Minor Healing Potion ×2

Warning

Mana reserves critical (4%). Channeling further will damage your core.

Legendary Title Unlocked

[Godslayer’s Apprentice]

Notices

For quick one-line pings that would be overkill as a full box.

[Skill acquired: Lockpicking (F)]

+1 Perception

Stat tables and status screens

Use ▦ Stats to insert a table. Click inside it to add or remove rows and columns. The first row is a header. On phones, wide tables scroll sideways inside their own box instead of breaking the page. Tables can go inside a system box.

Skill names and game terms

Select text and press Skill to mark it as a game term, like Shadowstep. It’s styled subtly so it stands out without shouting.

Comments, reviews and messages

These use simple text formatting: **bold**, *italic*, ||spoiler|| (hidden until clicked), and lines starting with > for quotes. Links starting with https:// are made clickable automatically.

HTML mode

The HTML button shows the chapter’s HTML. You can use: p, strong, em, u, s, h2, h3, blockquote, ul/ol/li, hr, a, code, table (class stats), div class="sys" with sys-gold, sys-green, sys-red, sys-purple, sys-gray, div class="sys-title", p class="notice", p class="ta-center". Everything else is removed when you save.
