Destiny Times Three

Someone, or something, is giving the whole world nightmares. In a gentle utopia of skylon cities and flying togs, Thorn and his friend Clawly have charted a steady rise in bad dreams and believe it points to a danger the World Executive Committee refuses to take seriously. Then, in the dark at the end of a color-symphony, Thorn's hand moves on its own and steals a strange gray, egg-shaped talisman from a hooded old man.

That theft cracks open the secret of the Probability Engine and the hidden worlds it spun off long ago. Soon Thorn wakes in the Earth of his own nightmares, a grim, policed world where a different Clawly serves the Servants of the People, while his miserable double walks free in utopia wearing his face.
