Witch of the Demon Seas

Corun of Conahur, the most feared pirate on the seas of Achaera, is finally in chains and bound for the headsman, until the Thalassocrat's sorcerer offers him a way out. Shorzon and his granddaughter Chryseis, a witch as beautiful as she is cruel, need a guide. Corun is the only man who ever reached the Xanthi, an inhuman, amphibious race of sorcerers in the weed-choked Sea of Demons, and came back alive.

So the pirate sails with his sworn enemies aboard the Briseia, under Imazu, a one-eyed blue Umlotuan captain he soon likes far too well. Shorzon wants the Xanthi's help to seize Achaera's throne. Corun wants freedom for himself and his men. And Chryseis, with her tame devil-beast at her heel, wants something he cannot read.
